1. Key points
• According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs ( OCHA) ’s Financial Tracking Service (FTS), donors have committed/contributed US$ 925.9 million of humanitarian funding to Iraq since the start of 2016 .
• Three donors account for 70% of funding so far in 2016 : Germany ( US$329.0m ), the United States ( US) ( US$218.6 m ) and the EU institutions (primarily through the Department of Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection : ECHO ) ( US$ 128.5m ).
• The UN’s Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) has provided US$15.0 million for Iraq in 2016 through its rapid response window .
• The Iraq Humanitarian Pooled Fund (IHPF) has so far allocated US$33.8 million to emergencies i n Iraq in 2016.
• So far in 2016, 53% of the US$861 million requirements set out in the Iraq Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) have been met.
• In July 2016, a further US$284 million was requested through a flash appeal to respond to humanitarian needs in Mosul. There is currently no funding reported against the f lash appeal on FTS.
2. Recent humanitarian funding to Iraq
A total of US$ 925.9 million of humanitarian funding has been committed/contributed to Iraq so far in 2016. Germany (US$329.0m) , the US (US$218.6m) and the EU institutions (primarily ECHO) (US$128.5m) are currently the largest donors, contributing a combined 70% of the total.
Outstanding pledges total US$85.4 million and US$6.7 million , from the US and Belgium respectively.
3. Pooled funding
A total of US$48.8 million of funding from UN -managed pooled funds has been allocated s o far in 2016. This is an increase of 38% on the amount of pooled funding allocated to Iraq in the previous year.
