World: Worth more than an apple? The cost of a lost generation of children growing up in war zones.

Today, War Child UK has launched a shocking new report revealing that just 38 pence is spent providing education for each child in need in conflict per month; despite UN pledges to prioritise education.

38 pence – that’s about the price of the apple. We all know that this doesn't pay for much, certainly not for an education in a war zone. This is the message we took to Parliament Square, building a tower of apples outside Westminster.

War Child supporters around the UK are saying this isn’t good enough, and are taking action; have you emailed your MP yet?

If not please take a minute to take action, and share with family and friends, it makes a real difference when MPs start to hear from their constituents that this is an issue they really care about.

We’re calling on MPs to write to Secretary of State for International Development Justine Greening MP, asking her to make education in war zones a priority for the UK government, and internationally at the World Humanitarian Summit in May.

Next week global leaders will be gathering in London for the London Syria Conference, and we’ll be there, calling on world leaders to step up their action on education and protection.

We have some real opportunities in 2016 to make a difference for children living in war zones - let’s make sure both our and their voices are heard loud and clear.
You can read our report here  and can take action by **emailing your MP here.
